Letter to Fairfield residents

Dear Fairfield Resident,

My name is Tim Meyers, and my family and I have been proud to call the City of Fairfield home for the past 40 years. Fairfield isn’t just where we live—it’s where we’ve raised our family, built lifelong friendships, and shared in the traditions that make our neighborhoods so special.

This fall, I am seeking re-election to Fairfield City Council At-Large. For the past four years, it has been my privilege to represent not only the residents of Fairfield. During this time, I’ve worked with my fellow council members, city staff, and neighbors like you to ensure Fairfield remains a safe, vibrant, and connected city for all.

I’m running again because I believe our work is not finished. Together, we’ve made important progress in public safety, economic development, and parks and recreation—but there is more we can do to build an even stronger Fairfield for the future. My commitment remains simple: to protect the Quality of Life we all value and to serve with the transparency, energy, and dedication that you deserve.

City Council has worked together to strengthen the four pillars that make Fairfield a great place to live:

1. Public Safety

· Fire & EMS: Added more than 66 full-time fire and paramedic personnel, improving response times and expertise when emergencies happen.

· Police: Fairfield is one of only two cities in Ohio to achieve the CALEA “Excellence” Accreditation—an honor held by fewer than 4% of agencies nationwide.

2. Economic Development & Commerce

· Welcomed 11 business attraction and expansion project, representing $285 million in investment- retaining over 1,350 jobs and creating more than 580 new jobs here in Fairfield.

· Revitalization of key properties, including Route 4 and Reiger Square city center. 

3. Parks, Recreation & Connectivity

· Expansion of Harbin Park, including a new spray park, walking trails, overlook pavilion, and upgraded pickleball courts.

· New state-of-the-art playground equipment installed at Village Green Park.

· Development of the Marsh Lake master plan to improve access and connectivity.

4. Infrastructure & Sustainability

· Major investments in water distribution and sewer treatment systems.

· New snowplows, road equipment, and a resurfacing strategy that covers more than 15 miles of roads each year.

· Launch of the Fairfield Sustains Plan, focused on resource efficiency and long-term environmental protection.

Fairfield continues to provide the warmth of a small community with the amenities of a thriving city. I’ll keep listening, keep working hard, and keep making sure every decision we make strengthens the Quality of Life that makes our city special.
